Metrics systems work in multiples of 10

1) A milligram is a 1000th of a gram so 8.2mg = 0.0082g
2) A kiloliter is 1000 liters so 7.6 kL = 7600 L
3) A centimeter is 10 millimeters so 8.4 cm = 840 mm
4) A dekaliter is a 100th of a kiloliter so 56 daL = 0.56 kL

1) It takes 1000 mg to make 1 g,
so divide 8.2 mg by 1000 to get 8.2 mg = 0.0082 g.

2) Each kL is equal to 1000 L,
so multiply 7.6 kL by 1000 to get 7.6 kL = 7,600 L.

3) Each cm is equal to 10 mm,
so multiply 8.4 cm by 10 to get 8.4 cm = 84 mm.

4) It takes 100 daL to make 1 kL,
so divide 56 daL by 100 to get 56 daL = 0.56 kL.

1 mg = 0.001g
8.2mg = 0.0082 g

1 kL = 1000 L
7.6 kL = 7600 L

1 cm = 0.01m = 10 mm
8.4 cm = 84 mm
