I get 8, plus a personal day, plus 15 days vacation. But, I've heard that other countries take alot of time off - not sure if it's because of holidays or not. If you're not from the US, do you get lots of time off throughout the year?

I get 8, plus two floating holidays (Veteran's Day and Columbus Day can be used anytime). I get 20 days vacation as well. My company also allows us to "buy" five more days of vacation, too.

In the military you get 30 days a year, but weekends can count against you. Plus holidays, if you don't have duty.

As a teacher - we get all the regular holidays and if we're lucky - we get snow days, or heat days (this summer the kids got 5 half days off because of the heat), but teachers didn't...We get 'sick' time but summer is really our 'vacation' if you have additional financial help or saved up for the winter so you don't have to teach summer school.

I work for myself, so if I don't have a busy day, I spend it on my Harley. I guess I get as many as I want, but I would not say I get paid.
