i am going to the airport because i am waiting for a friend to depart can i go to the waiting room with them? or what steps can i do with him baggage ? waiting room where am i not aloowed to go other than inside the fligth ok thanks

You can go with your friend to the ticket counter to check in and check luggage and then anywhere in the airport that is outside the secured areas. But you cannot go through security without a boarding pass for a flight.

I work for an airline at Boston Logan Airport.
The policy is that you can only be with your friends during his checking- in and outside the secure area. Once yor friend goes trough the TSA inspection points you can't go with him/her. You are only allowed to walk around the check-in area and outside the security areas (gates) before the security screening points. You cannot get a gate pass to go trough security. Depending on the terminal where the airline is located, there are coffee shops, restaurants or waiting points outised the Security point where you can wait with you friend.
