Since you asked about a tradition in marriage and not at the wedding:
The man would clean the house and do the laundry on weekends while the woman got to sit on the couch with a beer in one hand and the remote in the other.

I think that all of the original traditions have been changed long ago. Obey is no longer in the vows. They replaced it with the word honor. Now days people mostly write their own vows. It dosen't matter what color dress you get married in, or even if you get married in blue jeans. Now days, mostly anything goes when it comes to marriage. It just depends on the couple.

Instead of spending tons of money on a huge wedding, have a small wedding & take an awesome honeymoon - 2 weeks long!
