I am looking a the Petraeus report -- there are a few true statements in there.

Indeed I do! There are few Statemen these days and fewer who are willing to put integrity and character first. These two men are shining examples of both! General Petreaus has seen more 'truth' in one hour on the ground, than any of us has read or heard in one week in the media. He is not 'playing politics' - his cause is deeper than that, as is Mr. Crocker. If I had a choice of who I could have in my corner, trust me, I would choose these two over any Anchor or news person who feels they know more than the ones on the ground. Their devotion to our soldiers, and to America, far exceeds their critics. It is said that, 'Nothing is greater than for a man to lay down his life for another...' While this is open to several interpretations, these men are literally laying down their lives for the protection and freedoms of America and the world. Is the violence the same as 2006...... they say no. I feel they have the 'ice cold facts' not we who are not 'in the fight' (literally on the ground). We all want our soldiers home, but to call one of the greatest Generals in history a liar is unbelievable. One has to wonder what motivates such a critical spirit.

Yes, I believe more than one word of Petreaus. He is 4-Star
gentleman and man of integrity. He's been there and done
that so he's a man in the know......unlike the people here on
"answers" who only listen to liberal responses. You should
all be ashamed of how the Democrats talked to these men.
Lantos called him a liar ( how rude). Chris Matthews said
the White House would polish the speech (didn't happen).
Why do Democrats always side with anti-war speakers even
if they are a part of the enemy of the U.S? They actually are
more than anti-war......they are a disgrace and traitors. It's
very hard for me to even hear a U.S. Citizen say that George
Bush knew of 911 before it ever happened. These citizens
have hit a new "low" for American patriotism. We are fastly
becomming an un-united States. It's a sad state of affairs
when people try so hard to divide us as liberals strive to do
this. Some day you'll all wake up and see it as it has become.

No, the facts are NOT that the violence is the same. I trust a generals word much more than yours, and am sick of the Democrats spitting on our troops to further their own agenda, when they voted to send them there to begin with. Show some respect for our military, or get off your bum and fight yourself! Of all the days to ask this kind of stupid question...

Not only did the Democrats put him in power, they then stated they would listen to his report, but then called him a liar. Maybe most won't but I will sure question the Congress' patriotism.

I would believe someone who has been in Iraq and doing something to win this war over someone who doesn't have a clue as to what is really going on.

I think right now, with the limited amount of information I have read, I'm siding with the GAO.

I'd believe them over a naysayer like you who doesn't even have a source to back his claim up. Great job.
