Boulder Creek, California. When I was waiting at the bus stop, there was this middle school kid who was listening to his radio with headphones on, and jumping around like he was freaking out. I thought he had a mental condition and didn't pay him any more attention. Then when I got on the bus, one of my friends asked me if I'd heard about the World Trade Center and the boy piped up with "That's what I've just been listening to on the radio."

When I got to work, I found everyone was grouped around the television in the conference room. As we were watching, the second plane hit, and the entire structure collapsed. I was in shock for some time.

I was in 6th grade, 11 years old.
When the 1st plane crashed I was at my bus stop, 7:45ish central time.
I didn't know about the attacks till I got to class. My teacher had gone to the office for a while. She came back running and turned on the tv to CNN. I had no idea what was happening. I just saw a tower burning, people jumping out of the building, media talking, & then the second plane crashed, then a third & then a fourth. I didn't know why people would do this. We were on lock down for the rest of the day.
They were afraid that terrorist were going to bomb Ingalls, which is a Navy shipbuild system, where my dad works. Cause the terrorist already had bombed The Cole, the year before, which Ingalls had built. My mom was glued to the tv 24/7 after that. We were scared and wanted to flee the country.

I was chatting with a friend in New Jersey! She told me about it before it hit the news! Of course, she did not know what had happened at that time but, I turned on the TV and she and I were frantic as she had loved ones there and I had a daughter who was in New York, sightseeing!

I could not get in touch with my daughter! The, I heard about the Washington/Pentagon attack! My grandson was in school just a few miles away!

For more than four hours, I tried frantically to reach both my children! I finally got them and all were safe! But, as the terror unfolded, my soul still remained grieved for all the lives taken and those who would be left without them!

OH, I will never forget this day!

I feel that the questioner has addressed the qeuestion to his fellow countrymen Unfortnately I a m not one. I was away at a safe distance in India.

But I have increasng reservations about my being away at a safe distance. The towers were only symbolic. The fire showered from the skies over all the civilized world. We in India have always to face similar attacks which may not be as devastating as 9/11 but the impact is no less. Believe me.

I was waking up by the radio alarm at 6:30 AM Pacific Time. The programs on the radio was so different and urgent that I was shocked and just rushed to the TV to see what was going on. I woke everybody up and glued to the TV. I didn't even want to go to work. Just sad :(( I pray for the victims' families.

it was the day after i moved into my new apartment. No cable yet. As i woke up and got ready for school i listened to the radio. I heard everything going on, and had to leave for school. Before i left i knocked and knocked on my roommates door, but he was so exhausted from the move the day before he didnt wake up. He awoke to a note saying,
"turn on the radio, America is under attack, we are going to war, pick me up at 2 pm" He thought it was a joke.
School didnt last long, my first two classes we watched live footage, after that, people just wanted to get home.

When it actually happened I was at school. I remember driving home when I heard about it on the radio. I remember the day so clearly, it's hard to believe 6 years have already passed since then.

I was home in bed (we worked nights), when the news editor called us at home and told us the United States was under attack.

We got dressed and went to work immediately, knowing it would be a loooong day.

The television set above my head in the office kept showing the same horrific scene again and again and again, and each time I felt stunned and sickened.

i was home sick from school that day when my dad woke me up and turned on the TV in my room. I did'nt even know what those buildings were and why it was such a big deal that they were in fire. About 15 minutes later i got caught up on what was happening and then the news came that the pentagon got attacked.
