Kind of related... I saw this news item today:
-- As Nation Marks Sixth 9/11 Anniversary, a Look at "Why America is Losing the War on Terror"
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/09/11/1424212
David Cole: "On September 12, in fact, there was a meeting in the White House, and Bob Mueller, the head of the FBI, was saying that we have to round up the people who were responsible for supporting the 9/11 hijackers, and we have to do it fairly and legally so we can bring them to justice. And John Ashcroft interrupted at that point and said, “Wait a minute, wait a minute. We need to prevent the next attack from occurring. And if we can't bring them to justice, so be it.”

His focus has always been on Iraq. This war is part of a long term strategy set forth by organizations such as PNAC. They think that by using force to overthrow Arab governments, the people in those countries will rush to form democratic governments that are favorable to the US. The problem is that there is no guarantee that this will happen without long term military occupation. This strategy has been incubating for years, waiting for a suitably pliable president to implement it. Afghanistan was merely an inconvenient distraction for people like these.

But the question should be,
Can Georgie boy focus in anything at all?
as to expect he could such then for a given amount of time?
(Pointless since his "service" years in ...Vietnam.)
Osama is kept at an undisclosed location, ready for use in the need of an event to blame/declare a War against another country, that Congress (or You) can't refuse..

He lost focus on the supposed perpetrators ie Osama because he knew that Osama would be needed later on. Later on meaning just about now. Osama's name rings bells in frightened people's heads like no other man on Earth. He is essential to the plan. He is no good to the administration dead or imprisoned.

Because without Osama videos during campaign season, Bush-types would have absolutely nothing to lure people into voting for them.
notice how Osama seems to keep up with right-wing talking points, as though he completely supports their cause, even though his current direction completely conflicts with what he stated several years ago?
Is Osama just as bad at flip-flopping as Bush is?

So that no one will think to deny that this unilateral invasion is anything other than a pre-emtive strike against the horrific tyranny of terrorism.
Did you know that the Germans in World War II made a pre-emtive strike against Poland? Imagine that... What an incredible threat Poland must have posed to those poor Nazis?!
This war is nothing other than (a terribly inept attempt at) empire building.

Because my moles still in Washington gave him reports I helped make up to steer him down the wrong path, make America less safe and prompt more terrorist attacks so I could use it as a means to take control. But those #$%&! troops he sent over are doing too good a job and starting to blow it for me, so now we have to lie and distort and slander to get our political advantage back!
I have seen you helping me with some of the questions you ask on this forum. You are a good little liar for me. When I take control, I will see that you are rewarded when most people are put into misery in my new socialist system.

Watch the movie "Wag the Dog" and you'll understand. Sometimes when a President can't cope with his failures, a war makes a good diversion. He was hoping to look like a hero, but he's not smart enough to pull it off.
