my husband is 6'5" and 250 or so, so I know where you're coming from. We have a Honda VTX Retro1300, and would have chosen the 1800 on hindsight. it's tight for him, and he basically sits leaning way back on the passenger pad. When we ride together, it's pretty uncomfortable for him- he has to scoot up a bit further. The other problem he has is with his highway pegs- we went through 3 different ones to see if any were big enough, but he finally settled with the best he could get. Not sure where the Vstar fits in there, but the bigger the better! Our next bike will most likely be a Harley Fat Boy or Road King.

I have a friend who is probably a little taller than you, he's tall and lanky, he had a bike custom built because he is so tall.
Yamaha V Star is a sweet bike but you may be a little tall for it.
Check it out, sit on it, you never know.

Because of your height, I suggest you go around to different dealers and actually sit on the bikes.
Try all makes and models.
I'm very tall myself and I'm not comfortable on most cruisers.
The seat heights are to low to the ground.
They feel very awkward at slow speeds when I have to put my feet down for balance.
Then there's the problem of my knees hitting the handlebars when they're fully turned.
The bikes that fit me the best are "standard" models like the Honda CB750 & CB250 (look them up on the web) and dual purpose bikes because of the tall seat heights.
You wouldn't buy a pair of pants without trying them on - go sit on some bikes (you don't have to buy a new one, figure out what you like and then buy used).

I'm 6'1" and I sit comfortably on my Honda 599 I've tried the wife's nephew's V Star and I felt that I was dragging my backside along the road.
The other posters who have suggest to take your backside in and sit on them are CORRECT. That is the only way to find out if you bum fits properly in the saddle and how it feels when you put your feet down on the ground. Also take a bike safety course and ask your dealer if they will be having a demo day in the near future where you can try before you buy,

I am 6-3 and have had the same experiences with bikes being to small, that is until I got my BMW. I have been told I look small on it but in all actuality, it is a very comfortable fit.

you need a bigger bike,, try a honda VTX Retro, either 1300 or 1800.. i have the 1800 and i'm 6'2 275 and very comfortable on it. The retro has floorboards , and the seating position/handlebar, and floorboard position were just right for me, didn't have to change a thing.

Used Kawasaki Police 1000. I had one -- at 5'9 I was too short for it, and I think it's more optimal for someone who's about 6'2.

First of all ignore the douchebag anti foreign bike bashers. Everyone makes great bikes.
BMW's 1200GS Adventure is huge. It has a nice upright stance, boatload of power and sits very high. I would love one but it is too high for me.
