Officially? Just once. I started out as a Psych major and switched to English junior year. But I thought about majoring in just about everything. I considered everything, except for math of course. If I hadn't been so lazy, maybe I could have double majored in English and women's studies.
Or maybe I could have gone a different direction, but I just really don't know into what? Costume design? Graphic design? I just wish I could be a professional Cinderella! Hahaha...

I changed it 3 times, I finally majored in math, only because I went to college many years ago when women didn't major in math. I did all right, but never really had a big interest in pursuing the degree any further. I now work in the insurance industry and it pays well, but is not what I had ever thought I would end up doing. If I could go back in time, I would have tried to become a veterinarian. Don't' have the energy anymore.

Actually, when I went to college, I was not quite sure what I wanted to do. Teaching was wayyyyyyyy in the back of my mind but I was hoping I could be more creative than that. Afterall, there were nurses and teachers galore in my family. I really wanted to be a writer. However, I went to college and joined many of my peers with a major in Social Work....minor in English. They dropped the Social Work program halfway through my stint and I switched to Sociology. As I was approaching the end of my four years, I decided to double up on the English and add more history courses and Education courses. Just in time too. I graduated on time with a degree in Soc/English/Education major - History minor.

I changed four times.
I finally got my BA in Elementary Education.
I now regret wasting my time with Elementary Ed.
I should have first finished my B.S. in Math and Science then gone back to get my teaching credentials in secondary education.
By having a BS in Math and Science, I would have had more job opportunities outside of the teaching field. I would have had more eligibility for a Masters degree as well.
Because I only have a BA in Elementary Ed, my options are limited unless I go back and get a Post-Bach in Math and Science.
Therefore, I'm working toward my Post-Bach in Math and Science, NOW! The lousy thing is that almost nothing from my first bachelor's degree will count toward the new BS degree. (only my humanities and English apply).
So, if you're getting a Bachelor's degree, stick with it, don't try to take a short cut by using your core classes toward an elementary education degree! With elementary ed, you only have to have about 2 1/2 years of core classes then you do the two year teacher training program. The two year teacher training was easy ars easy ! ---- I really regret doing that now!

When I started college I knew I wanted to be a psychologist ... and when I graduated I was a psychologist. I got 'started' late (I was 21) but I KNEW what I wanted to be and why ... and I'm retired now, but I am 'still glad' I was a 'practicing psychologist' ... and I still 'practice' by answering questions here sometimes ... so, no, I don't ever wish I went in a 'different direction' ... because if I had, I wouldn't be married to the 'wonderful man' I have as my husband now.

I'm on the third change, going into nursing and I am currently a phlebotomis, which I like the job, but I want more of a challenge. No regrets about career choices, just regrets about being out of school for so long

3 times. Currently I'm not sure if I want to stay in this direction or not. It's kinda late to change again though.
