Here's the truth:
You can't control people's reactions. Whether you tell them in 5 minutes, or 5 years, it will most probably be the same reaction. You get a "really?" or a "I always thought you were" or even the senseless "yeah, we already knew that." It's totally up to you. I say it's a healthy thing and an actual confidence booster. You're comfortable with your skin, AND you can date who you want =]

I just don't understand why people who are homo or bi feel an intense need to 'announce' this revelation to everyone they know! Yes, it will make a lot of people very uncomfortable around you. It disgusts many people, and they will see you differently. Being bisexual means you also like BOYS. It means you can CHOOSE. So if that's the case, why CHOOSE to do nasty things with other girls, knowing full well that it will only alienate you from the vast majority of people you like and want to remain friends with? I would not think it would be worth the repercussions!

Be who you are, and if you have close friends it would only make sense for them to know about your sex life. The fact you are "bisexual" is such a small portion of who you are as a person, but also; it does create a completely different dialog between you and your friends. You only live once, and hiding who you are makes no sense...everyone needs love and support.

It may not be the popular thing to do, but you can choose to just be straight. The people who care about you will respect you for your courage to be straight. You don't have to be gay or bisexual to be accepted, except maybe on yahoo answers.

Why say anything at all? I'm bisexual and I don't share that part of my life except those who I can absolutely trust (three to be exact). Will it be an issue with anyone if you don't tell them? I much rather have friends to accept me as I am rather than having them branding me with a label.

Many people are afraid of change or learning something new.
And you have good reason to be concerned - many friends will turn their back on you. You're no dummy.
So you can either be honest to yourself or you can live a lie.
Let your friends fall where they may be. Friends will come and go out of your life.

Why would you be paranoid around your friend? It sounds like you have some insecurity about being bi/lesbian/whatever. If you're not comfortable around your friend, how could you expect others to be comfortable around you?

Just ask your Friends what they think of gay people without telling them you are gay and see how they react.
