I don't think we have been living anarchy in the U.S...don't think many other countries have either...

I hope there never is anarchy. Given the amount of people that do horrific things even with laws and penalties, I'd be scared to see what would happen with total free rein. Personally, I don't think the world's 6 billion people have enough self-control to govern themselves without laws.

Also...I feel that I could control myself if there was anarchy, and of course there are other people that could. But the reason they can control themselves is because they have learned values and respect. If there was anarchy, what structure would there be to tell us what was good or bad?

Hey franktripps... I've been an anarchist in the past; to me at the time it simply meant throwing a wrench in the works now and then and otherwise minding my own business. Now I vote and all that.
I'll have to look up anarchy again to see if we have always lived it. Nope, there have been too many amendments to the Constitution, too many other constitutional rights taken away, and too many vetoes to say we've live without a leader, at least in the US. mmmmmgrowl

History is a great teacher if we are willing to learn. It teaches us that anarchy and permissiveness always lead directly to the dictatorship of sin, to the submissiveness of our spirits, to the slavery of our bodies.

I "believe that every man should be honored in his station, rulers and magistrates as such, being placed for the protection of the innocent and the punishment of the guilty; and that to the laws all men show respect and deference, as without them peace and harmony would be supplanted by anarchy and terror; human laws being instituted for the express purpose of regulating our interests as individuals and nations, between man and man; and divine laws given of heaven, prescribing rules on spiritual concerns, for faith and worship, both to be answered by man to his Maker."

To practice anarchy, open the door to your home and leave it open so everyone can come in and get what they want.

From disorder comes order, and from order comes disorder.

We humans already have lots of disorder in the world that we can't sort out and by the looks of it there's plenty more to come.
