I don't think MTV thought Britney would lay an egg but at the same time they hired her to be the centerpeice of that show because good or bad her performance was going to make headlines.

No I dont.And I don't agree with Kanye West.
Britney bombed,and MTV did not expect that to happen.Honestly,I rather would have seen Kanye West on stage.
But Kanye West always seems to make everything a race issue.

as much as I don't like Britney, they've done it before (Michael Jackson) so I don't see why they wouldn't do it again. That's how the media is, they pick someone to build them up to superstar status so that they can tear them down by saying rumors and exploiting them. It doesn't matter to them if they ruin someones life, all they care about is the money.

Show Business is all about exploitation. Yes they did, and she knew it. She craves attention and went along with it.

I agree with Kayne they used that girl to get more viewers. They knew darn well she wasn't ready. They probably thought they were helping her image and to push her new single.
