Star Wars is sooooooooooo over rated! I don't get what the big deal is! It wasn't as good as people make it out to be. However, Alien and Aliens are two of my favorite movies of all time. I didn't grow up with the series, I'm only a teenager, which should tell you that they are timeless. The special effects for such old, low budget movies amazes me. I also really like how each movie takes a new direction, and the series appeals to so many people with different tastes in movies. I vote for the Alien series all the way

Actually, they re-released all the Alien movies as a quadrilogy a few years back, in which each one was extended. And it started going downhill after the second one. Alien 3 was totally boring and Resurrection was just okay. The only series that could possibly outdo Star Wars is Lord of the Rings. (And we're uber-geeks, not uber-nerds. Yes, there is a difference.)

Im a weird one, Im a massive geek, I love star trek and all the trimmings but I just dont enjoy star wars. I just dont like the characters. I appreciate what it has done to the cinematic experience as a whole but I've never wanted to sit down and watch them.
However the Alien series is a whole other kettle of fish, I ♥ them!

Star Wars: I thought Alien / Aliens became a bit redundant after a while.

personaly I say Star Trek but since that isn't in the question I have to say Aliens cause after they started going down hill (I'm talking about Resurection) they stopped making more and they leave the original film as a classic instead of making brand new scenes and brand new films just to milk more money out of uber-nerds.
