I always allow it to ring at least 3 times; even
if it's an important call that I'm expecting.
The reason being is that not only do I screen
all of my calls but I also never like to appear
so desperate and anxious by hopping up
and answering the phone on the first ring.

If it's an important call- 1 ring (because it's important!!!
a call from a friend-2 rings (how long it takes to get there and check out who it is.)
a call from my boyfriend-3 rings (because I don't want to look too needy.)
a call from a telemarketer or bill collector--I don't answer those calls.
Of course this is why I can't live without my caller id.

On my phones, it depends on how long it takes me to find it!
Although at work, it's usually 2 - 3 rings.

I have it set on five rings but since I have caller ID I answer it on the second ring. and that is a rule in my house when I am at home, wait till after the second ring, (I need to see who is calling).

At work 1
Mobile, as many as it takes me to get my phone out of my pocket
Home, it goes to answerphone after 4 rings, I listen to the start of any message they are leaving and then answer if it's someone I want to talk to, otherwise just let them leave a message
