Well, a good friend would tell you the truth, so compromising on an answer would be less than honest. And a good friend would always be honest with you. However, the better friend would understand that you too must have an opinion, and to squelch that opinion into oblivion would possibly destroy that friendship, thus they would never learn the real truth, even if it takes years to make them see the light. lol Baby steps!

Depends a lot on the particular situation! Depends a lot more on the friend! I have friends I can never disagree with as they want to always be right! We can't even agree to disagree!
Others if the issue warrants it we can agree on a compromise!

The Better Friend prefers to show the disagreement where things go wrong. but if at the cost of Friendship Disagreement will not be expressed and Compromise will be chosen.

The Better Friend feels free to disagree & not to compromise if he / she feels strongly about something.
He /she is really interested in the longterm welfare of the friend & doesn't sell himself / herself for a cheap momentary appreciation.
