If you look at life expectancy, we're currently live 2-3 times longer than humans of even 200 years ago. I doubt whether humans in the upper paleolithic era lived in a garden of eden all the time since they had to deal with climate change, famine, wild animals, etc. But in a general sense, it does seem like those that live closer to nature are more healthier than those depending on synthetic products...even though we do live longer generally speaking.

I would say if we chose to eat natural organic foods then Yes it would be much better than processed fast food. The people of this time had limited amounts to choose from depending on where they lived and the season. However during the upper paleolithic time there would have been a serious challenge collected and hunting the food. Most of your energy would be consumed trying to gather food. They might have gone days without eating. The life expectancy was around 25-30 years of age. It was not an easy life. Many became food.

No...modern day humans live healthier lives...but...

Oddly enough...there's a such thing as "too much health..."

1. It turns out that trying to keep a "sterilized" home free of germs is bad for our immune system...our immune system needs exposure to remain vigilent and strong...

2. The over-abundance of food is causing a Diabetes epidemic all over the world...(and Obesity...)

3. Shingles in adults are becoming an epidemic as well, as fewer people are exposed the the Chicken Pox virus, which again ties in with our immune system...

4. Mental illness is also becoming an epidemic...half the adult males in the U.S. are on prescription medication for mental problems...that ties in with overworking, the hypocrisy of our society which we live with every day, and way too high expectations of human behavior which encourages "repression" of natural human tendencies...

5. Bad news...also a root cause of "clinical depression" among adults...

But even with all those things...we're still healthier...

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last couple years, I'm sure you've heard of the Paleo Diet. Read here https://tr.im/paleoguide
I hate to even call it a diet, because it's really just the real way that humans have eaten for almost 1.9 Million years, as opposed to the modern-day processed food diet full of grains, sugars, and processed vegetable oils.
