I just wondered if the foam can stand some heat after it is cured. Anyone know?

i used the stuff to seal up gaps and cracks under the kitchen sink. helps keep out bugs that will be attracted to water.

I'm sure it would work just fine around the dryer vent, just don't plug up the vent obviously.

A word of warning though, that stuff is MESSY. It keeps coming out even after you release the nozzle. if it gets on your clothes, they're ruined. On your skin and it's worse than getting off krazy glue.

Not a problem with the amount of heat generated by the dryer vent. This stuff will not hold up to ultraviolet light. Make sure it is not exposed to sunlight.

You have enough yes answers but I'll add just one more.

Add on: In now reading some of the answers. NO there is no danger of fire from the heat generated; As one answer states you may have to scrape to smooth BUT it is sold in two types, LOW and High expansion. It can also be surfoam filed and/or sanded, and painted over

Check to make sure the stuff is not flammable. When you apply it make absolutely sure the dryer is not running or even hot. Compressed cans can be very dangerous when exposed to heat.

I would use fiberglass batten, just to minimize the risk of any fire hazard. (or Steel wool)

If you need a weather seal, then I would recommend a quick set mortar, which can be painted afterwards. ( I would use a high temp paint ) Im probably being over cautious, but its better that than risk a fire, I think.

Good Luck
