What type of crab?

If you want to keep fiddler or red clawed crabs, you'll need to provide an area of brackish water, and an area where they can climb completely out of the water. One of the simplest ways to do this is to use a plastic shoe box filled with gravel (on the bottom to keep it from floating) topped with soil or sand for them to dig in. Put some bricks or stones to build up a ramp for them to get into it and place gravel behind it. You can put your filter in the tank by laying it on its side. Use a wire screen cover to keep the crabs from climbing the power cords (they're great escape artists!). Your best idea is to research the breed of crab you have. Most crabs have different things they like in their enviorment. I do this with every animal I own so I can make sure they are healthy and happy.
