This is the second time it's happened. I don't pull on the headphones at all when I wrapping it up or anything. I only get sound out of the right ear unless I press the headphone jack to one side of the iPod really hard.

How can I fix this? Do I just need to pull a tab outwards in the iPod? Or how else?

The cord that travels from the iPod to the speakers must be broken. I suggest either taping it up at the broken site with scotch tape, or replacing the headphones and buying a new one. The latter should cost you no more than ten dollars.

P.S.: If you're using the ear buds that came along with the iPod, get rid of them and buy actual headphones. I have found that you can't hear crap out of the ear buds unless you have the volume up so loud, especially if they get obviously clogged from (gross!) earwax buildup!
