That everytime someone opens their mouth something intelligent or insightful is spoken?That people are credited and discredited on the content of their character and rewarded as such?as opposed to modern contemporary society when this is not the case?was it a simpler and more noble an era?take Pride and Prejudice as the comparative to 21 century life......

The books, maybe... the actuality, probably not. There was still a lot of backstabbing and actual duels and whatnot, besides poor hygiene; enough to keep me from the actuality!

There were no Paris Hilton's as such in the book, but there were hints of that type of character, who had nothing but money to back up their place in society...
I'd say I guess I'm happier here, where I have a good view as well as hot and cold running water.

You mean where a girl's entire life and worth revolves around who she's going to marry? No thanks.

And LJ K's right; Austen's books are only about a certain class. It wasn't like that for everybody at the time she was writing.

wake up girl. life in novels and in reality are different. u jast cant compare the two. the first is fiction and second one is reality. And who wants to go back that far in the past.
