Yes. Everyone should. Sweet potatoes contain an essential amino acid called tryptophan which is a natural sleep inducing "agent". Other sources are turkey and bananas.

Try eating turkey, sweet potatoes and a banana cream pie and you'll be out for the count!

FYI It usually takes anywhere up to 7-15 times to get a child to try a new food - Don't get too frustrated yet and it sounds like you are doing a great job as it is. Mashed bananas in the sweet potatoes are yummy!
