Cayenne Powder Cures Sore or Strep

The tremendous response to this remedy makes us think it's possibly the very best remedy for a sore throat (whether viral, bacterial or strep) is cayenne pepper. You may still need to continue the gargle for 2 - 3 days to see final results, so be patient! This remedy works when antibiotics do not and is excellent for those weird sore throats that don't seem to go away after 4 weeks (the ones that may lead to chronic fatigue syndrome). If it is too late, as in strep, it takes gargling with cayenne in water every fifteen minutes until it goes, and be patient, because it GOES. I haven't had a sore throat take hold in 15 years or more, though many have tried to start up, which also is a way for many illnesses to sprout. I generally will gargle cayenne in water at whatever strength I like and do it as much as I can until I tire of it, and then repeat every fifteen minutes, each time swallowing a tiny bit real slowly (not necessary). It only stings the tongue a little when spitting out, otherwise, no discomfort, you can get used to even the swallowing part when you see how well it works. I use the cheap Mexican stuff, but also keep on hand in refrigerator the pesticide free stuff from health store. Cayenne is a miracle cure for ulcers and so many other conditions, plus aids assimilation of nutrients and vitamins. I will keep cayenne in water in the bathroom in case I get up in the night, so I can gargle once in the night if I am very sick, but if it is in water, it will go bad quickly and needs to be put back in refridge in morning.

IF YOU CAN'T FIND CAYENNE, USE PURE CHILI POWDER INSTEAD!

Here are a few choices.

Use a thumb sized piece of ginger boiled in water. I call it 'ginger tea'. It really clears my lungs and throat. It also does not have much of a flavor but a strong soothing smell that helps clear nasal blockage.

First off, don't smoke and avoid smoke-filled environments. Limit sugary foods and drink large quantities of clear fluids, like soup broth, ginger tea, and fruit juices. Eat raw garlic... it doesn't taste the best but it has excellent antibiotic properties.
Gargle with salt water... I know you've heard it a million times but it's definitely good for you. It's also a really good preventive measure... at the first hint of a scratchy throat it's good to keep gargling to prevent such a sensation in your throat from turning into a nasty sore throat. Also works as well as salt is apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
Combine the juice of one lemon with a tablespoon of honey, add to a glass of hot water, and drink. It feels and tastes so good!!
If you can get your hands on some aromatherapy essential oils, gargle with geranium or lemon oil in hot water.
Here's a simple yoga pose to strengthen your facial and throat muscles:
Sit back with your heels under your bottom and knees together. Keeping your spine erect, stick out your tongue as far as you can and look upward. Don't tilt your head though, keep it straight forward.

Tea w/ honey used as the sweetner. And LOTS of it. Drink as much as you can to coat your throat and keep it moist.
If it's from post nasal drip, heat up water just before a boil. Put a few drops of Tea Tree Oil and breath in the fumes through your nose. That does a great job clearing up the sinuses and stopping the post nasal drip.

Good luck.

Gurgle salt water. I'd do it over a bath tub instead of the sink because it makes a huge mess sometimes.
Soda. Preferably anything with lemon lime.
Soup. chicken soup works the best. Add just a tab bit salt than usual.
Anything acidic. So anything with citrus. drink orange, grapefruit juice lemonade or eat an orange or grapefruit.

You can gargle with warm water and salt... It's what my Dr. recently recommended me to do, aside from having prescribed me Erythamicine. Hope that helps :)

Dissolve some aspirin (unbuffered) in water and gargle (you don't need to swallow if you don't want to). It tastes awful, but works great.
