It seems to me that the only thing some people are in 100% favor of, is bashing Bush...
I will not be presumptuous as to say you have never been in a war, I don't know, but I would think that if you ever have been in harms way, you would want 100% support.
You say that you support the military by not wanting them in harms way, that is not your decision to make, they chose to enter this field, knowing full well the ramifications. Let them do their jobs.
And I have not seem ONE anti-war protester that seemed sympathetic to our soldiers, just venomous towards our adminstration.
In spite of what Kerry says, our military is made up of very intelligent people, people who have the ability to see through the veneer of sincerity you purport to have for them, to the underlying agenda so many really have.
BTW, having said all that, and standing by it, I too, do not think you are a traitor. The word is much to important to use lightly or often enough to diminish its meaning

I agree with your statement on the face of it -- it is absolutely ridiculous to declare that someone who doesn't agree with me is "unpatriotic", "treasonous", etc. I would much rather reserve that judgement for those political leaders and opinion leaders who do any of the following:
1. Question the integrity of a highly-decorated general without any sort of proof
2. Declare the war "lost"
3. Compare the actions of our troops, AS A WHOLE, to Nazis, Communists, Terrorists, etc
4. Dismiss any thought, idea, or statement regarding the Iraq war simply because it does not fit into one's political hopes or world view (yes, this cuts both ways)
5. Leak classified strategies, programs, or tactics to irresponsible news agencies
6. Chuck Schumer

Yes, I am very tired of being called a traitor, treasonous, a military hater, et al, simply because I do not agree with this war.

Anybody who would call someone a traitor or treasonous for disagreeing with the war doesn't really have an opinion worth listening to anyway.

President Theodore Roosevelt said, "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Agreed. Ann Coultergeist started that nonsense on False News even before the invasion began.
I would say forgive the neo-cons for they know not what they do. Unfortunately, they are well aware of their ludicrous comments.

It's been happening since the dawn of time. To certain people Patriotism means following what your country does blindly and never questioning anything.
