There is this college girl that I like at church who is very close to her family. We are not dating, but friends. She was mad at me for emailing her and asking her family stuff! We haven't really talked much. Her dad told me it was bc we are both shy and just to take things slow. Well, we got in a little argument last sunday and she told me to speak to her, but to stop emailing and calling her family. She said there is no problem and she didn't appreciate me making one. ...but still everytime I walk in, her brother and sister (both younger) keep staring at me, but she completely avoids eye contact with me. ...and her parents are exceptionally nice to me even after what happened. Its really hard to give more details without writing a book, but why might things be this way? I thought she liked me, but now it is seeming like she is rejecting me!

She sounds like she feels that you are too pushy and she isn't ready for a close relationship. She thinks you are too nosey for sure or she wouldn't ask you to back off of the family chat. In other words, you can visit the family as a friend but not anything else as of yet. That means that you should be content to just visit without so many questions or comments, especially ones about her. She may just think you are too forward or bold for her just yet. I would just cool it for awhile. Be curteous when passing her and 'if' invited over come and if not, then keep your distance for a while. Then after a few weeks to a month, ask her if you can come over for a visit. Leave it up to her and not her family. She will come around 'if' she likes you when 'she' is ready to and any proding on your part will only distance her further. Just cool it and be patient.
