Why do you live here? You can move to another country that better suits your lifestyle and mind set. You want to live here, but want to complain about living here too. And make statements about how you don't fly the flag because you don't agree with what it stands for. WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO LIVE IN THE USA - if it makes you so darn negative?

Because my people were here first. Native Americans. Also it is everyones right to pick at things that they do not like. Just like your doing, in hopes of making it a better place in some small way. Beside you call it America we call it our birth right!

It' is not that I dislike America or hate being American. I dislike the cultural expectations that are important in the American Culture. I have fought for my country and believe in it to be a better place than alot of others in the world, though it needs work as all things do. Therefore I live here to help change the "worldview" of America and it's citizens. I do enjoy the freedom of speech that allows everyone a voice, even if it is not agreed with by the majority. Then freedom of religion and all of the other civil rights that are enjoyed by free citizens. Therefore I love America, though dislike the majority of the overall cultural aspects.

I don't hate the entire United States of America. I just hate some of the things that have been going on lately and the way we are portraying ourselves to the rest of the world. I think that the portion of the country who thinks this is the "greatest country on earth" and thinks our way is the only right way should get some education and take some time to travel the world. open your minds a little bit.

You don't have to fly a flag to be a "real american" sweetheart. What's next? If I don't wear red-white-and-blue underwear on July 4th, I should move to Canada? Please. America is all about people being FREE to do WHAT THEY WANT, which includes not flying a flag, and not having to listen to jingoistic idiots...

Um, I served 20 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. I don't fly a flag. Are you really impugning my patriotism just because I don't fly the colors?

How have you served your country?

The "love it or leave it" attitude is the most unpatriotic one yet. It essentially says if you don't blindly agree with what's going on in your country, abandon it instead of sticking around and voicing your opinion and advocating for better.

I Love the U.S. part of the reason is freedom of speech. We are one of the few countries thats its okay to talk against our country. There are many reasons why the U.S. is not perfect one of them is we as a person are not perfect. We are all different and its our choice if we want a flag or not, thats part of our famous diversity.
Personally I wont want to be in any other country!!

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." --Thomas Jefferson

The whole POINT of living in a free country is the freedom to decide to fly or not fly a flag as it pleases us, and complaints are actually part of the democratic political dialogue.

Take YOUR dictatorial views to another country where people like being ordered what to do, how to be and what to think.

The absence of jingoism does not necessarily translate to "hating being American."
