Deodorant, some type of magazine, some extra pads besides the ones they will give you at the hospital, and some type of game to play like monopoly or something with your husband or boyfriend or whatever. A portable DVD player would be nice if you don't want to watch cable or satellite at the hosptial. Bring your favorite movies. Bring your own pillow, baby blanket, and some vaseline or lotion for your legs. They will give you baby gifts and pads to go home with at the hospital. You got a good list going on though. You need powder with cornstarch in it. They told me to rub that on my wound. That depends if you having c-section or natural though. I wanted to have myson natural but I couldn't because of complications. Good luck. Congratulatons! Giving birth is a beautiful thing.

1. Change for the phone in case have to use a pay phone, for cokes or candy.
2. A soothing CD or your IPOd to listen to to help you relax while you are in labor.
3. A trash bag or some kind of padding to protect the car seat in case your water breaks in the car.
4. Your make up, blow dryer, curling iron etc.,
5. Diaper bag
Good Luck!

i think you should take your own baby bottles. the reason being that my sister and cousin both let their children use the bottles from the hospital and the babies wouldnt take the ones at home. i will be taking my own bottles when i go into labor, as my cousin did with her 2nd chid. just simply tell them DO NOT give my child the bottles from the nursery and that should be fine with them. Luckily my sister works at the hospital and could get extra nipples so that the baby would take more than one bottle. i also recommend you to take some of your own night gowns, thats just a personal thing with me, i dont like the thought of wearing the night gowns from there because i dont think they are clean enough.

I am surprised your doctor told you tonight or tomorrow for going into labor. From my knowledge you can be 2cm's for a couple wks before going into labor. I am assuming there is more to it then what you are telling us.
As for your bag:
The hospital we are delivering at provides everything for you. We are bringing the outfit we want our baby to have her pictures in and go home in, slippers (because the hospital ones are cheesy). The provide diapers, onesies, wipes, hat, soap, shampoo (of course if you are picky you will want your own shampoo and if you don't like soap), they provide washclothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, night gowns and bathrobes (there is the risk of staining your own if you bring them in so i am going to use theirs). You may want to bring some of your own pads from home though for yourself because the ones they have at the hospital (as far as i know) don't have the sticky back on them like ones you would buy.
Also something to keep in mind, unless you have a brand new carseat before you can leave the hospital they have to inspect it to make sure it fits guidlines. We are bringing ours in before hand because to many times the carseat inspectors have not been there. We don't want to have to wait to bring our baby home because they are not their the day we have our daughter. The other option is the police station. Even if you have a new one make sure it has not been recalled or anything.
My bag has been ready just incase for about a month now *laughs* slowly adding more things to it. Yes a bit extreme, but you can never be ready to early, never know when you will go into labor.

You might want to bring some snacks for after the baby's born- you'll get hospital food, but that stuff is disgusting. Also, you might want some sugarless hard candy if possible to suck on during labor because your mouth will get dry with your breathing.

You might want to bring something to pass the time. A book or magazine, maybe. Or a deck of cards. The snacks is definately a good idea. And make sure to bring the granny panties! You'll need those for sure!

if you have a book you like, bring it.. also, if you happen to have an ipod or mp3 player or portable cd player or radio, you might want to bring that too.. songs you like can help relax you.
I know youll love you baby very much, but Id encourage you to leave him or her in the nursery the first night.. sit in the room alone with ur husband or boyfriend or friend and read and listen to your music.. its your last night of freedom and ur baby will be in excellent care!
congratulations, youll love being a mom =)
also, bring some warm blankets for the baby and a hat if you want.. otherwise the hospital will give him or her one. =)
