Are they in that desperate need of points or are they just too lazy to actually look at the answers! It drives me crazy. I will look at one that is in voting and the first answer will have 3 thumb downs, be totally wrong or off the subject and people voted for it because it was the first answer! URGH! Am I the only one whose noticed this?

For those of you who think it is not a big deal, you are probably the ones doing it. LAZY!
I have never let a question of mine go to voting, however maybe people don't pick a best answer because not everyobody always has access to a computer, or maybe they don't know the best answer so they leave it up to other people to chose.

If I'm going to take the time to vote, which I do, I look over all the answers before choosing. ALSO, I've been hitting the "date" button at the top FIRST to bring up all the poor oldest ones stuck "in Limbo" and vote on those (ones I know about) so people maybe get their 10 points. A couple categories I've brought up have questions as old as 5 to 7 months, some waiting for "tiebreaker" votes.

Some people just want a quick and easy point and are too lazy to read all of the answers or they just don't care and only want the point. Some people care about the points more then others.

Because they don't really care that the Best Answer gets picked as Best ANswer... they just want the point.

It's the most convenient thing to do. That's why when you ask a question, you need to pick a best answer, not let it go to a vote.

Yeah, I'd like to know that myself! It's not fair to the other people who answered the question who had a better answer than the person who got best answer!

They are point grabbing. It happens all of the time. They do it because it is easier than wading thru 30+ answers sometimes.
