If we both file single on taxes, do the two income calculators still work? It doens't make sense to me. It says I net $215 a year. How can that be?!?!

I did that little calculator, too, and let me say this. I figure our taxes, and I bring home over 25,000 a year. That's on top of what my husband brings home, and after taxes. We couldn't make the house or insurance payments without my check, my car payment, etc. I will keep working and I don't care what anyone says. You know looking at what you spend that calculation is wrong.

If you are married, you can file joint or married filing separate. You can withhold during the year at the single rate but come tax filing time, you cannot file single.

Claiming single on taxes is just that, you enter your earnings, not the other persons. That would be double dipping either on both of you paying twice or the government paying you twice. Check out irs.gov for more information.

Oh sorry you said single haha. I would file separate unless you want to be a Dependant.
