I personally think every home in America should have one. If you choose to live here, you should be proud of being an American, and own a flag. I used to see flags out when I was a kid, on every holiday. We always put ours up. As I got older, it seems people just don't care anymore - can't be bothered to buy or put out their flag.

Do you own a flag? If not, why not?

Yes, we own several - one was flown over the capital and given to my husband upon his retirement from the USAH. A flag is flown at our home every day - and a light shines on it at night!

Surely a flag is a symbol of a nation dn its people, but it is also an item that can be bought and owned like anything else. In the latter case I suppose you can do what you like with something you have bought. But,as a symbol, to burn or otherwise desecrate a flag is an insult to the nation represented by that flag. It is, I imagine, illegal to do so in the country whose flag it is. In another country it would be as great an insult as desecrating a religious symbol would be. If not an actual sign of war, such as firing a gun, or an explosion would be, it is getting towards that.

Hi, I don't own an American Flag but I fly an American Indian Flag. I love America but I don't care for how the government treats us.

No, because I am not an American - and not everyone feels the same sense of National Pride that you do. I think that NOT having a flag sends just as strong of a message - that you are NOT PROUD of what is going on in the country that you live in.

You put your flag out to support the troops - while others do not because they feel the war is ILLEGAL...

And so on ;););)

I own one, and I fly it daily......I'm in a HOA community and there are 69 homes. I'm one of about 3 homes that fly's the flag. The others don't even do it on patriotic holidays.
