My husband and I are going to Orlando for a week and only have one day to visit one of the theme parks there. I'm not interested in kiddie rides....I 'm more interested in roller coasters and such. Also, does anyone know which park has the 'Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster'? Thanks for the help. :)

Rockin Roller coaster is at Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM) as is Tower of Terror. One thing you can do is get a hopper ticket for Walt Disney World and go from park to park. I think Universal has some more thrilling coasters but Disney has more to thrill. Look at each website and see what they have and what looks best to you. I like WDW and heres what they have thrill wise.
At Hollywood studios:
Rockin Roller Coaster (coaster)
Tower of Terror (drop ride)
Star Tours (simulator)
At Animal kingdom:
Expedition Everest (coaster)
Dinosaur (Simulator track ride)
Kali River Rapids (flume ride)
EPCOT:
Mission Space (simulator)
Test Track (coaster, sim, sim on track)
Soarin (Simulator like on a hang glider, very cool)
Magic Kingdom:
Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road (coaster)
Splash Mountain (flume)
Pirates of the Caribbean (flume, like the movies)
Haunted Mansion (great dark ride)
Space Mountain (Coaster)

IMO if I had one day I would do a hopper ticket and see how many rides I could do in a day. Make a list and start with the first park that opens in the morning and end with the park that closes latest in the evening.

I would say definitely go with Walt Disney World! And to choose between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, it depends what you want to see. If you would rather experience the different countries around the world, the sea, the land, imagination, and futuristic rides, then EPCOT is for you. If you want to experience a few thrill rides (not saying EPCOT doesn't have any)--like Tower of Terror or Rock N Roller Coaster--or a bunch of live shows, then you should go to Hollywood Studios. To answer your last question, you do need a ticket to actually get into the park to take pictures. On the other hand, if you just wanted to stop by, you could take the Monorail, your own/rental car, bus, ferry, walk from the Contemporary Resort, or the FriendShips and easily take a picture of the front of the Magic Kingdom (but the only problem being the entrance gates in your way...). Once you have your ticket to get into the park, you don't need separate tickets to go on rides--the ticket is good for everything in the park.

i've been to disneyworld, it is alot of fun... however, like you mentioned, the rides are quite "kiddie" except for Space Mountain. I do believe, that Universal Studios is alot of fun, even though they are not really roller coasters. However, the rides at Universal Studios definitely will have your heart racing and your adrenaline flowing. If you want total roller coaster action, might I recommend Six Flags? However, if your choices are Disneyworld and Universal, then I would choose Universal Studios if this is a vacation not involving small children. Eitherway you turn, you will have a blast!

if you want a single day park and want the most number of coasters, the you will have to go to Island of Adventure. there are three (well, two. just one has two different tracks) roller coaster. and they are intense roller coasters. if you go to disney the only two intense coasters are at two different parks. by the way. R&R Coaster is at Disney-MGM Studios.
Island of Adventure also has more teen/adult build rides. it is a small park and should be able to see everything in one day. at least everything you want to see.

even more roller coaster are at Bush Gardens in Tampa but that is about an hour plus away from orlando.

Disney World! It has so many things to do and see, and it is way better than Universal! I've been to both, and I was not very impressed with Universal, but I have been to Disney many times and LOVE it! The Rockin' Roller Coaster is at Disney, and I've heard that it's great! It might cost a little more for Disney, but it is SO worth it! Have fun!

dinsney land are more kiddie rides and universal studios is much better rides. i think the aerosmith ride is at disneys MGM studios. i love that ride its great. i think islands of adventure has more scary rides tan universal studios but both a great you could alway go for half a day at universal studios and islands of adventure because they are RIGHT next to each other and the tickets can be used for both parks. i pretty sure you cn use them for both parks anyway.

I have the same question. I am going to go on vacation there. Here are the websites for those amusement parks and you can see if there are rides that you are interested in. Disney world's website is http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index
Universal Studio's website is http://www.universalorlando.com/

There's not much rides in Universal Studios, so I would pick Disneyland.
