Muffler bearing? He's messin' with your mind, there is no such thing...it's like sending an aviation cadet out for a bucket of prop wash and 100 feet of roll-up runway...or sending someone out into the night with a bell, a candle and a bag on a "snipe hunt". K ;o)

Hard to say. Some people use the term "bearing" to indicate the rubber strap that holds or "bears" the weight of the muffler. Either way, it shouldn't need replacing that soon.
And if he's refering to a "ball-bearing" type device, then he's lying to you. If he's not lying to you, have him show you the part before doing any work on the car - it should be visible from the underside without removing anything.
Frankly, at 5000 miles, the warranty should cover it for you.

I've never heard of a muffler bearing, unless you exhausts spins around in circles lol Do you have a leak in your flexable pipe perhaps ?

Muffler bearing, muffler bearing; there is no muffler bearing in a car. Is this a joke? If not, get a new mechanic.

the only thing that needs replaced that doesn't show any signs of wear, would be the cat converter, they require replacement on a km basis, people who don't change them risk cyanide gas poisoning if they breath in the fumes. (especially in an enclosed area, such as a garage.)

first of all it should be called a catalytic converter and yes they reccomend them to be changed every 50000 miles but my husband owns a transmission and automotive repair shop and if there is nothing wrong with it you don't have to replace it unless there is some kind of regulation in the state that you live in
