Not knowing how old or experianced you are. Does your car still have the factory speed govenor? You usually have to find a shaddy tree shop to wipe out a computer controlled govenor.

Just beacuse he cleared the code doesnt mean the problem is gone. The code warns you that something is not working properly. Find out the actual code and research it online you can then find others that have had them same code and what they had fixed or did themselves to fix them problem. What is it doing when you attempt 81 mph does it jump or hop like its out of fule or just seem like it hits a wall. Thes would help address the situation. Research code you can probally find the answer online at like vwvortex or audizine or some other audi website in about an hour. Just to answer to aomeone else's comment you can't simply clear the ecu and it removes the factory govenor. All a scanner does is read factory warning codes and give the function of that code. Clearing an ECU will not eliminate the govenor but merely clear the ecu history log back as if you were driving the car off the lot for the first time. If you want to remove the govenor this requires an aftermarket chip or software that stays connected to the ecu to overide factory defaults

The first thing to do is to check all your inter cooler pipes are secure any air leak in them will cause the condition you describe. If your inter cooler radiator is punctured the same result.Have you got contaminated fuel check your diesel filter for what it costs its better to replace. The fact that your map sensor came up on test also points to an air leak map =manifold absolute pressure sensor.Crank juce is correct its no good just cancelling the code you need the root cause of problem.

Did he only clear the fault code or did he replace the map sensor too.If your turbo pipe is burst or kinked in any way it would affect your map sensor also cause you would not be getting much air to build up pressure in the manifold..

I have a 1998 A6. The manual gives instruction on setting the max speed setting. Often times a dealer, tire store or owner will do that when you run on snow tires or say T rated tires.
