peroxide is a good one for it's bleaching qualities and is usually color safe. All depends on what you are looking to clean! Lemon juice, vinegar, ammonia, baking soda, all are good cleaners depending on the items to be cleaned and what the dirt is that you want to clean off.

Vinegar and hydrogen peroxide can be used in general cleaning and in the laundry. Tea tree, cinnimon, lavendar oils can be used in disenfecting.

I have heard that you can put lemon juice on the stain and let it sit in the sun.........
