If you want to know why Americans are so ignorant you should watch their Fox News (channel 510 on satellite). It’s more spin than news.

Recently their Bill O’ Reilly (one of the most famous pundits in America) dismissed the ongoing fierce fighting in Afghanistan as a myth spread by anti-Americans.

I think the families of our (British) serviceman fighting and dying in Helmand Province would consider this an insult.

We also knew he was a dope from day 1. But the choices we were given for alternative candidates was awful. John Kerry was a joke with no idea on what direction the country should go in and Gore was defeated in 2000 because everyone was tired of the Clinton Administration. We knew Bush would be bad; we just didn't know how low it was going to go. That being said, I think he will replace Herbert Hoover's claim to fame of being the worst President America ever lived through.

Wasn't it the US that saved the British from Nazi Germany??

Do all of you American bashers realise that you would have no forum to bash us if the American company Yahoo didn't give you the freedom to do it.

Why does everyone hate Americans?

Do me a favor. Don't watch our movies. Don't watch our news and television shows. Don't drink our beer or smoke our cigarettes. Turn off your radio when you hear an American song. Don't worry about Americans. Abort all American related activities. Do not go to clubs or bubs that play American music. Don't ever eat at McDonalds or any other American restaurant. Do not use American computer products. Do not surf American owned web sites. Boycot Microsoft and Macintosh. Put away those magazines. Do every thing that you can think of to avoid all things American and see how freaking boring your life will become.

Trust me I can avoid everything British and it wouldn't phase me a bit, but I don't hate British people at all. You are the bigot.

I do not think Bush is a half-wit.
Like most americans, he just has this faith that they are 'God's chosen people' and cannot, therefore, do any wrong.
America's real problem is that their Press is far too powerful, whilst their people are too gullible.
Militarily, they learnt nothing from Vietnam and continually grant special protection to pressmen on active operations.
When will the public of all countries realise that newspapermen and reporters are not there to tell the truth about a story. They are there to get a story which will sell their paper before others. That they often deliberately misrepresent the facts to suit themselves is a commonplace practice.
We should put VAT at 500% on all 'newspapers' unless they can prove that over 50% of the content is factual reporting and not advertising, comment, innuendo or just downright lies.

More to the point is that in the first election Bush was not voted in by a majority(Gore won the popular vote if you will all remember) BUT, after 4 years in office,a gigantic breach of national security, the suppresion of many of our civil liberties and an illegal and undeclared war, a clear majority elected him for a second term! Who can explain this? An awful lot of people were taken in and are only complaining now. We have a lot to answer for foisting this character on the world!

Bush didn't actually get ellected, there was a problem with the polls in Florida, and as tha law states you can't re-vote a whole state. So Bush really won, if could say illegally, or under-the-table

Well, we knew that he wasn't perfect, but the other thing that we were certain of was the fact that if he is determined to be a half wit, those two goof balls he was running against were drooling morons.

You've got to choose the lesser of two evils and, well, that's how we got Bush. And I think, if you're really honest about it, you'll have to agree. I mean, did you see those two? Gore and Kerry? Who tied their freakin' shoes every day?

Besides, which would you rather have. The half wit or the guy who couldn't defeat a half wit in an election? And if they couldn't defeat the halfwit, how do you expect they would address the problems facing the nation? Think about it.

But look at the posts from the 'rest of the world'. Of course our opinion of who should be our leader will be different than what the insulting bigoted nonAmericans think because we are very different cultures. Thank goodness for that.

Americans have been the target of Karl Rove's propaganda machine since 1999. The Repubs have spend hundreds of millions of dollars portraying the idiot Bush as a decisive, no-nonsense, devout Christian leader. Well, they got the devout Christian part right.

Fox News and talk radio have been on his side until recently, but even they are abandoning the fool, Bush.
