Yes, I did. A part of me dies every time a brother or sister falls.
Disappointed in some of the responses but not exactly surprised.
Law Enforcement is the most despised of all of the EMS Team but usually the first to respond in some of the most horrendous incidents.
I wonder who the hateful would call if they or a family member were in grave danger??....because most of the responding officers wouldn't hesitate to risk their necks for what may be a stranger to them, but someone dear to you.
I guess it's "just their job".....
May ALL the victims be remembered and the heroes be honoured.

Well I offer my gratitude to all those brave officers and firemen that risked their lives that day, but I won't just go up to a police offer or fireman and say thank you just like that.

well...I'm in the military and someone called me a baby killer. horrible huh?

but when i do see a police officer and/or a fireman i will be sure to give them my blessings.

i ate lunch at firehouse subs. it was started by firemen and a percentgae of the profits goes to local fire houses and they had a memorial going on there which is why i went. when i get home i am calling my cousin who is an emt for manhatten and has been for 8 years.

what have you done?

Since none of the firemen or police officers in my area were in NYC that day, no, I haven't thanked them.
