this is the first time i sold something on ebay how do i go about getting payment for shiiping should i have put it in before the auction started? i didn't. is it too late now?the auction ended today and it says i am waiting for payment.

This should not be a problem... As long as you did NOT say "free shipping" in your auction, if you are reasonable in your request when the auction ends you should have no trouble asking the buyer how he wants it shipped and charging only the actual shipping charges...

Many sellers add a bogus "handling charge" that is ridiculously high, but if they let you know in advance, you always have the choice of not bidding in those auctions.

That said, as long as you are reasonable and do not try to make a profit on it, no one should kick about reimbursing you the actual postage...

Yes you must specify the shipping charges when listing your item!
there is really nothing you can do about it now if the item has been sold. you have a legally binding contract between yourself and the buyer.

A lesson learnt I think.

you should have put that in your description... it's too late now to try to collect the shipping charges

they have a question about shipping while you are listing your item/items. it is too late but look for it next time.
