The wipers won't always start when turned on or stop when turned off. Sometimes run in a non selected speed or just stop in mid stroke. This is obviously a problem in the control circuitry.
My question is where is this circuitry located?

It's the wiper control module. It's attached to the wiper motor on the firewall with three torx screws. GM issued a recall on these wiper modules involving almost 2 million vehicles, so you may want to check to see if yours was involved in the recall.

Generally speaking wipers are very simple and the "control" is all in the switch. It controls the speeds and delay and washer fluid all in that one little switch that sticks out of the side of the column or dashboard. There may be a tiny circuit board inside the column if this is where the switch is mounted on this model.

Check online at LMCtruck.com as they sell all kinds of truck parts for the big three American models.

Good Luck!

I have to agree with McLaren. The problem is with the Wiper Control Module. It is located on the firewall just behind your master cylinder. Do check with GM for recall replacement. If they deny it, you can get the modules from Napa, Autozone, etc. Just don't buy a high dollar one from a dealer.
