Sounds like you have a bad battery. try to jump start it. Then get the battery and charging system checked asap.

My guess is the pop is coming from a weak connection to the battery and the electricity is jumping and popping. Over time this will wear down the battery to the point that the starter won't jump anymore

Sounds like the soleinoid on the starter is kicking, but it is turning the motor? The gear that hits the flywheel could worn or damaged.

Your starter could be pooched, or the bendix is not letting the gear move.

A loud popping sound, sounds like a small back fire, or your spark plugs are pooched, igniter (coil pack) could be gone.

You either have dead battery or dying starter or engine coolant has flooded the inside of one of the cylinders and the engine cannot and will not compress water/coolant.

Let's hope it just needs a battery or starter. If the engine is bad you would really need to swap it out for a rebuilt engine.

Good Luck!
