I think you can get medication for this. Talk to your doctor about it. If you're going to be somewhere where you know you'll have a hard time getting to the bathroom, try wearing something protective, either a pad or absorbent underwear. But, hopefully you can get on medication and you won't have much of a problem anymore.

You could take Ditropan XL, Detrusitol, or Detrol LA.
However, if you are not into taking meds, you could try bladder training with timed voiding. This treatment is used for urge and overflow incontinence. You would be asked to keep a voiding diary of all episodes of urination and leaking, and the doctor analyzes the chart and identifies the pattern of urination. You uses this timetable to plan when to empty the bladder to avoid accidental leakage. In bladder training, biofeedback and Kegel exercise will help you resist the sensation of urgency, postpone urination, and urinate according to the timetable.

I have this problem, incontinence and I received a lot of information but little medical help. I also found out this is very common and I deal with it by always carrying an extra set of underwear. You can never predict when this will occur day or night. There is an exercise that you should do on a daily basis, that is to stop your urine mid stream several times while urinating. Good Luck.

Overactive bladder is a common complaint that can be treated with medication. It is also important to rule out possible nerve damage or infection that could be causing the problems you are having. You should make an appointment with a urologist.

You need to see a doctor. In the meantime I've heard that karate helps develop certain muscles that will help you control your bladder.

You should see a urologist...you have what's called Urinary Urge Incontinence. Your PCP or OBGYN can refer you to a urologist that they would recommend. They may suggest medication or a minor surgical procedure to address your problem.

There are medications you can take to ease this issue. I sometimes have issues with this due to a UTI, I've had them my whole life and have just learned to deal. Cranberry juice is very helpful.
