I mean I think in a way it is, but then again you never really "chat" with anyone.....

I don't really consider it a chat room. in chat rooms you can just go back and forth, like carrying on a conversation.
I actually got in a chat room when yahoo had them, and this could only happen to me, this guy started talking to me about how bad his life was, and I started trying to cheer him up, but he obviously didn't want to be cheered up because he told me that he had diabetes, and when I typed back and said oh, I'm sorry to hear that, he typed why? you didn't give it to me!!!!!
that guy was so rude, but it was funny at the same time!!!!! lol

Hi,
I've never really used chat rooms but YA is I think more like a collection of groups, each group is formed through like-minded people finding each other and discussing things of interest in that particular circle. Questions and answers give more scope for us to learn, test our thoughts, beliefs, views and values, see things through other people's eyes. It's still a great way to form relationships. The 360 gives more scope to chat which I've only recently been introduced to and that's just like an opportunity to develop some relationships a bit further without the need for questions and answers.

That's why it's not considered a chat room. In a chat room you can go back and forth and talk to one another and not worry about any violation notices. This is for questions and answers which is why it's set up a certain way.

No I wouldn't because there is no room for chat...there is a question and an answer and even if the two people wish to continue the conversation it must be done by e-mail.

I think of it as kind of a delayed chat room because so many people do pass messages here.

In a way but, you are right, we never really "chat" with one another. But, we do kinda know who each of us is as if we talk to one another on a regular basis.
