Usually in nature, bright colors like red, yellow, and black are used as warning coloration. When disturbed, ladybugs can secrete a bit of blood from their legs. It is yellow, foul-smelling, and distasteful to predators. Their bright coloration indicates to any would-be predators that the ladybugs are not good to eat.
Many small animals that are bad-tasting adopt the same small set of colors because predators are familiar with them. Rather than having to remember that purple butterflies, red beetles, green ants, and black worms are bad to eat, a predator only needs to watch out for animals that are bright red or yellow, often interlaced with black.
I hope this explanation is helpful.

Black and red (or black and orange) in combination are natural warning signals. Why that is, I can't tell you, but apart from on tigers, those colors are meant to be seen and signal "Danger, Will Robinson! Warning! Warning!" It may refer to some intrinsic danger (like bad taste or internal poisons) or to some other quality of the animal (venomous bite, venomous stinger, etc.) Either way, it's meant to deter things that might be able to harm the animal.
