Jim Davidson SHOULD NOT have been forced out of a w**k program like Hells Kitchen, having read all the comments in this blog I understand now why we are in the position we are as "EX" Great Britain, Most of the answers look as though they were sent in by Lesbians, and followers of the Shirt Lifters Society...I wonder how many people out there are fed up of turning a TV on ... and watching programs hosted by other Shirt lifters ... strange not many lesbians seem to make it as presenters for some reason, maybe they don't have the right "PARTS" for the job.
Am I in a minority who thinks this Political Correctness has gone too far ......or am I just a plain old WHITE GUY who for more than 60 years has been kept in the dark?
When I was a kid we had RESPECT for people....Where is the respect for ANYTHING or Body these days.... went out when PC reared its stupid head.... the adage of "If yer can't stand the heat keep out of the kitchen " should have applied.
Jim Davidson has earned the title "CELEBRITY"... who is this "BRIAN" ? just an attention seeking, cry baby, a nobody, who will be forgotten in a few years.

I don't think he was wrong at all. I think brian dowling made a mountain out of a mole hill. Now i'm not gonna get into it for fear of falling into the same tight spot that jim davidson did. Now if gay people are equal to us then they should'nt take offence at it. Back in the 70's and 80's they would have probably had their windows put through with a brick but now society accepts them for who they are. After all we ARE ALL EQUAL no matter what colour, race or sexuality. I really think brian dowling was playing up for the camera's and the way he was acting was pathetic. He should've just said yeah whatever and ignored the comments made. Going for the sympathy vote so he stands a good chance of winning me thinks.

Mr Davidson was awry in his timing and presentation of this question. Discussing anything of a homosexual nature with Brian would have been ill advised given recent events. Let us not miss the point here however, Mr Davidson asking a general question concerning 'shirt-lifters' could not have been any more offensive than Marco Pierre White's reference to a 'Pikey's Picnic.' I suspect that there are not too many Pikeys' at work in the television industry to create unwarranted demands. Jim may have been in error, but he was not in the wrong - the producers are and they should appologise to us all for their poor handling.

I think if paul or barry had said it, it would have been taken in jest but because jim is so obviously biggoted and hostile towards gay people it was taken seriously ( and in my opinion rightly so). Jim Davidson is only 54 thats not old, could you imagine (pun intended) that if john lennon was alive today he would be so horribly homophobic? His cop out excuse that he was from a different generation doesn't cut it with me. Keith richard is older than him for f*ck sake and i would never classify him as being out of touch with young people. I think Jim Davidson would LIKE to live in a society where bigotry was popular - maybe then he would have a career

Is Jim a funny and brilliant comic

NO

or was he out of touch with PC today

I DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT THAT STUPID 'PC' THING - MORE OF US SHOULD HAVE THE GUTS TO BE 'OUT OF TOUCH' WITH IT

Should he have been removed from Hell's Kitchen?

NOT FOR THESE TRUMPED-UP POLITICAL REASONS, NO

Hell's Kitchen is not so different from Big Brother. Sick programmes like these bring out the worst in people.

I help Jim one hundred%. all and sundry is entitled to their very own opinion. Will they boot Brian out for elevating a tumbler and shouting interior the Kitchen 'Ding Dong the Witch is long gone?' of direction no longer by way of fact then the manufacturers would be accused of being anti-gay besides. Brian is enjoying the gay card one hundred% and for my section is a a strategies worse individual than Jim Davidson. a minimum of Jim Davidson admits he's somewhat a 'fossil' and is no longer one hundred% politically maximum suitable - while had Brian admited to his many failings? Jim did no longer direct the Shirtlifter remark quickly at Brian. It replaced into Brian who desperate to take it that way and thoroughly (intentionally for my section) omit the element. ensures him the female vote a minimum of. The G.A.Y (solid As You) acronym has been around by way of fact the 80's - so Jim replaced into actual in what he replaced into saying and not in straight forward terms poking exciting. It makes me ill which you seem to get persecuted presently for having an opinion.

to be honest my opinion is much the same as SJ's people know Jim Davidson's brand of humour and if they don't like it don't watch it simple as that. If people who are sensitive to such issues watch a comedian like him they deserve to be targeted by him for comedy's sake simple as that. Brian has the choice to be gay or not he makes that decision. He also made the decision to appear on the show where he will have known Jim Davidson was also going to be Brian very much in the style of a martyr put himself in the line of fire he wanted to look like a victim and got exactly what he wanted. end of

i think we are becoming a society that has allowed pathetic people like brian to dictate how we live. i dont mean the whole gay thing he keeps harping on about either. people have been gay for years, its not a new thing.jim hasnt moved with the times because he doesnt want to and if thats how he feels thats up to him. when did society decide we had the right to tell people how they should feel or think? everyone is entitled to their say and although jim was classed as a bully, i think if you looked closer to brians behaviour you'd see what a manipulative person he is. gay men are not like him, he's obssessed with his sexuality and thinks everyone should cow tow to him. jim has issues but lets face it so does everyone. we all have things we are not comfortable discussing or dealing with. no-one is honest enough anymore for fear of being called racist/homophobic/bully etc.jim didnt like brian plain and simple. with jim you get what you see ,he has no hidden agenda unlike brian. thats my opinion anyway!!!

Brilliant. Young people of today are brainwashed about PC i spent my life calling a spade a spade (for the brainwashed it's a tool for digging)now they try to tell us that it's wrong.A shirt lifter is far from what they were called few years back. Some people will never accept them and to many are on TV plying their ways to young people.Come back Jim show the PC brigade free thinking and free spirit let the majority rule as it should be. Did i tell you the joke about the vicar and the bell ringer the vicar was cleaning his organ?????????????

I am sick of PC!!!!! We'll all be scared to open our mouths soon!

One day something is perfectly ok to say, and the next day it's politically incorrect.

Gay used to mean happy

Half cast used to be an acceptable saying, but now it's not PC..... You have to say mixed race.

Black boards are now chalk boards, BUT white boards are still white boards!!!!!!

Baa baa black sheep is no longer acceptable (I'm sure if the song had originally been baa baa white sheep, there wouldn't be a problem.......After all, they haven't decided to rename "white Christmas"

Jim Davidson wasn't trying to be offensive. He was just trying to raise a laugh in the same way he's always done. As he said when he left, he has friends who are gay and who he calls "shirt lifters". Presumably his friends are sane enough not play the "homophobic" card

A Russian colleague visiting the UK said to me that he feels sorry for white males in the UK. They are the only ones who have to take insults without having being able to play a "card" of some kind.

We all need to get some perspective, and stop playing the victim to easily (like Brian). I have a very good friend who is gay, and before I new he was gay I cracked a gay joke in front of him. He didn't take offence. He laughed! He was mature enough to realise that I am not anti-gay.....quite the opposite.
