Yes I would. Why should it matter who the other person is? They are still human and are in need of help.

I do on a daily basis ,I have been a volunteer Fire Fighter for 17 years... I have been in the hospital twice , trying to rescue people , one was a roof collapse , and the other was chemical contamination in my lungs , and all over me , when it blew it took my air mask with , so I breathed in some chemicals , It is all good though , we got the person out , Had scrapes , cuts etc ,and a few broken fingers along the way ..But no big deal , just a day in the life,,,
And it does not matter if it is a Man , Woman , Child , white black , brown or green , Christian , Catholic , jewish , gay , straight , republican , or democrat , None of that matters , When the alarm goes off I jump in my car , and go to the scene , Anyone needing help gets help .
About the green person , ..don't ask , ...it was a college party , nuff said ...

I would like to think that I would be so willing. But, it is hard to say - never been in a situation like that.
As for if it matters it being a man, woman, child or baby, I don't think so -- I suppose the only thing might matter is whether or not is what the situation is and perhaps how they got in said situation. For example, would I be willing to risk my life for a person who I just witnessed murder another person - probably not.
Tough question

I feel we all have an obligation to help others. In life threatening situations you don't know what you will do until you find yourself face to face with the possibility of your own death. I came to grips with this long ago and I have lived a long and happy life. But I don't believe I was put on the planet just to see how long I could last.
I must consider the hundreds of firemen who ran up the stairs of the WTC on 9-11. They did their jobs and thought only about saving lives. Remarkable!

If i wasnt a mum i would say i would help every1.
Im being honest here ok, as harsh as what it sounds, I would struggle because it wouldnt be far on my kids.........Having said that, I dont think any1 would know what they would do unless they are in that awful situation.
I hope i will never ever ever be in that situation.
Having hust said all that there is no way i could watch a child go through pain so i would help.
What a tricky question!

Of course I would. That's what I do. I risk it for every American out there because I am a Soldier. I risk it for the freedom of other countries too. Too many to name. It makes no difference to me. Everyone is somebodies son or daughter, mother or father.

in emergency situations you act on impulse, you don't take time for mr.brain to react, but let preservation instinct kick in, so i guess i'd have to go through the situation you describe to say. It wouldn't matter if it was a dog or a horse, the reaction would be the same.
