There are people from both sides that are wrong and right. We have fought to have a free country for many years and part of that freedom is choosing the political party you feel is best for you. I do try and respect all parties. I do draw the line at those who speak so ugly and respectful of men who have been or might be the sitting president now. I suppose if you ask me to give an example it would be, Rosie O'Donnell. I hold no respect for her or her views. But to be honest, I don't think there are a lot of people in that party who are like her. Does what I said make sense. I hope so.

I do respect others political beliefs no matter how different they are from my own as long as they can back them up with real logic, real reason, real facts and are presented in a respectful manner. If you're a person who just regurgitates what you heard on Bill O'Reilly or Anderson Cooper last night, not so much because I see that kind of blind, uneducated certainty as the major problem in American society. For the rest of us, we're all trying to accomplish the same things: make a better life for ourselves, keep our families safe, etc. We just have different views on how to get there.

About 90% of the population . . . There's a significant amount of crazy on either side of the political spectrum that is beyond respect.

Simple answer= yes.

But you have to learn to sparate "polotics" with "moral ideology"

When a republican says "Im for stronger state government, and weaker national government" or "lets priavtize social security"(for instance) I respect thier view even if I don't agree with it.
However, when someone tries to make law out of personal moral/religious beliefs, then, NO. When did we forget the old saying: live and let live?

I can respect alot of opinions, but don't tell me how I can or can't live my life, who I can or can't marry, or what types of entertainment I can enjoy.

Absolutley, I think it's one of the most important principles of any free society. The lack of respect is what I think is wrong with politics today!

i actually try to.check my last question concerning moveon.org and you will see why i say try.some, not all,of those with a liberal point of view would rather insult and degrade rather than have a real discussion.it makes it hard for me to listen to much less respect a point of view that is based on non-acceptance and hate.If the truth be known,I'm actually a moderate who supports candidates on both sides of the aisle.

Absolutely. It's best to look at things logically and weigh the pros and cons of choices. A republican can be just as right as a democrat, absurd as that sounds.

Sometimes, especially on issues regarding abortion or gun control. However, I have a problem with people who are pro-war, but never bothered to serve in the armed forces.
