So i'm doing this paper and it's on the whole idea behind of sacred cows. It's basically the opposite of what we use cows for here in america. Perhaps, by Western standards, treatings cows as "sacred" is absurd.

What are somethings that America does that are illogical or absurd?

Breeding pigs so that they have very little fat and hence almost no flavour, and then using seasoning so that the minute amount of pork flavour left is drowned out anyway.

I have longed for a decent bit of pork since moving here.

What I think is so illogical is how during the Cold War we were constantly told how evil communists were and we have all these embargoes against some communist nations, but then we send all our raw materials and allow the Chinese to manufacture most of our goods, even toys for our children.

Why are we setting up a country formerly deemed as evil to take over as the next world power? It's totally absurd to me.

Spending absurd amounts of money on a disposable object.

Turning objects that could last a long time if cared for into disposable objects from lack of care.

Thinking a piece of paper determines how much you are worth. (college degree, label on clothing, or name on college degree)

Letting Mr. Important get away with something because you don't want to stand up to him.

Being more wasteful (trash, eccessive use of electricity, gasoline, etc.)than any other country then complaining that our COMPANIES and GOVERNMENT are the reason for high costs, global warming,a nd endangered animals and plants.

The obsession over celebrities, whether they be sports stars or Hollywood stars. I get furious watching people "line the red carpet" and act like worthless, embarrassing fools. Or people that would line up at a club, praying to get in, while watching the privileged get in first. How lame and worthless one must feel to allow that.

It is illogical how the American people do not control the government, but then complain about not having democracy.
