NO SUCH THING AS A FREE KITTEN. Go to http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Cat&pet.Breed=&pet.Age=baby&pet.Size=S&pet.Sex=&location=90277+ or your local shelter adoptions are around $100 it included Spay/Neuter Surgery, Feline Leukemia Test, FVRCP vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Free post-adoption health exam from a local veterinarian, Free post-adoption behavior advice much cheaper than your free kitten.

Want a free kitten?
To all you posters who want to know where you can get a free kitten (without having to pay shelter adoption fees), let me tell you about my absolutely free, didn't cost me one red cent cat.

This cat, which I found in a parking lot, has so far cost me $200 in vet bills for his exam, tests, shots, and boosters. Tomorrow we go in to get him fixed, which is another $130, and chipped, $30.

My point? If you can't afford $100 for a shelter cat that has been vaccinated, fixed, tested, and examined, then you definitely can't afford a 'free' cat.

When getting a new kitten, you will need:
* Cat carrier
* Cat bed (purchased or homemade)
* Food and water dishes
* Food
* Litter box, litter, and scoop
* A collar and tag (your kitten should wear them whenever he leaves the house, even if he is inside a cat carrier)
* Toys and a scratching post
* Grooming supplies, the type will vary with the breed of cat
* Health care supplies including ear cleaner, cat toothbrush and toothpaste
* Book(s) on cat health care and behavior

Before getting your kitten, find a veterinarian whom you will be willing to work with for the next 20 years. Make an appointment for your kitten's first exam prior to actually getting the kitten.

Check ur local newspaper`s classified ads, usually loaded with people wanting to give away kittens free to good homes. Another place to look, is ur local super-market, they usually have a large bulletin board posted on the entrance wall where people post items and pets for sale and for free.

LOOK AT http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/ca -- pick the city closest to you and then look under community and pets. There are ALWAYS people looking for homes for cats, kittens, dogs, etc. You will find what you want. Don't be put off by the "adoption fee" -- it is usually nominal and more as a deterrent to people looking for animals to feed their sneak or dog-baiting. Some even come with their supplies.

Almost anywhere, there are too many kittens and not enough good homes.

Look in your local newspaper under pets - there will likely be listing for free kittens.

Shelters will be glad to let you adopt one for very little, the fee usually includes vaccinations and spay/neuter, so it is a bargain.

a shame i am so far i have new kittens just ready to leave home. well i would go to the animal shelter in your area. or you can even look on line but will have to meet the owner to get your pet. or put an ad in paper saying you want free kitten from good home. liter trained.

Please get a shelter kitten and save a life. Petfinder.com has thousands of kittens waiting for homes. I have done a search for Rendondo Beach. You will increase your matches if you change the age from "baby" to "young."

A reputable shelter will charge a fee to cover the cost of animal care and to ensure serious owners only, but it is usually a fair and resonable price and worth every penny for your priceless new companion.

Check your local paper for advertisements.
A cat shelter would also be a great place to check for litters of kittens that someone has dropped off.

Many people who foster pets give them for free. Try contacting one. Maybe even a stray... But even free pets cost lots... For food, water, shots, little box.... medical stuff like spaying.... Toys... So make sure you have all the money first.
