Tent
Ground cloth/tarp
Axe or hammer
Sleeping bag
Sheets/blankets
Stove with fuel
Water bottles maybe a empty bucket
Swim suit/towel
Tooth brush/tooth paste
Toilet paper
Other personal items

Yes! By all means. Be sure to take your tent, food, warm clothing for those chilly nights, fire wood, and lots of alcohol! I went last weekend and am going again this weekend.

Yes. Take nothing. Sleep on the ground like a pro. And eat berries and kill raccoons with your hands and eat them raw.

I've never been but when think about it the thought of running across a mountain cat or bear scares the hell outta me- I wouldn't unless I had a gun!
