My husband was 27 when we married, 31 when the first child was born, and 41 when he died. Our younger son wants to marry at 22 and have his two children by age 27 because, he says, he wants to be young enough to play hard with any teen-aged sons.

Men and women need 2+ years to establish their own relationship in marriage (living together doesn't count) before having children. Having some money saved before procreating helps, too. Being really settled financially when you get married keeps you from connecting at a pretty important level.

Really does depend on the man and whether he's ready to be a man, not a boy. A few are ready by 19, most by 40, but the happiest in the long run are some where in between.

A minimum of 30, 32 - 39 for kids. A mans sperm goes downhill just as a womans ovaries do with age. It's better to have kids before 40. Otherwise you risk chromosomal disorders.

I was 22 when I got married, I plan on having kids at 25-26.
I would agree with most people and tend towards 30, but if you had to nail me down on an age I would say 26 to get married and 28 to have kids.
