I was on Ortho Evra (the patch) for about 5 months..maybe a little less. I got my usual period Jul 30th. Then me & hubby decided we want to TTC. I took the patch off the first week of my new month. I then started bleeding for a few days on Aug 13th. I asked a doctor and he said that it would count as my "real period" so I should expect it 28-30 days later (I've always been regular pre-birth control) Well, I started bleeding bright red and clotting Sep 6th-9th...I asked him again and he said that if it was that heavy, then we should count it as my REAL period...I'm so confused, anyone go through this or have any insight into my problem?

This sounds more like withdrawal bleeding because of coming off the patch. I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently use to see what the sescond opinion doctor thinks.
