is fridge temperture degrees 3 colder than 4

I'm not sure what kind of fridge you have but generally 4 is colder than 3. Do you not have the little indicators that say "cold" and then "coldest"? Or maybe the one that shows the factory recommended setting?

The numbers aren't actually in degrees. The higher the number the colder the temperature.

If a fridge has a dial with numbers on it then the higher the number the dial is turned to the colder the fridge will be.

An ideal temp for a fridge is 3°C / 37°F. Some fridges have thermometers so you can set the temp, if not you can buy a cheap one and adjust the setting to get the ideal temp.

3 degrees is colder then 4 degrees, temperature is a measure of the amount of heat that is present, the lower the number the less heat there is.

No the higher the number, the colder it gets.
